Circumcision
Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin, the tissue covering the head of the penis. Circumcision is an ancient practice, with its origin in religious rites, that is still practiced today.
Dr. Sodhi believes that circumcision is a personal choice, providing no real absolute benefit to your baby, though neither doing any significant harm. She does not, however, perform circumcisions and will refer you to have your son circumcised by a specialist. If you decide to circumcise your male child, we can arrange for it to be done at your time in the hospital or refer you to a urologist to schedule this quick procedure.
Please ask us for these referrals during your third trimester so that you are prepared with a plan for circumcision after delivery.
