On the day of your surgery, check in at your scheduled time with our patient coordinator at reception. You will then be called into our procedure room, where the magic happens. Let us show you around!
After you get settled into the procedure room and use the restroom, Dr. Neetu K. Sodhi will provide you with a topical numbing cream, and she’ll let your skin absorb it for half an hour or so. Then, when she numbs you with local anesthesia, you’ll feel comfortable all the way through, with no pain. We also offer our patients Valium to help them feel relaxed and at ease throughout the duration of the procedure.
(Patients are required to have a trusted individual drop them off and pick them up from our office, so that they may safely take the Valium.)
Before the procedure begins, Dr. Sodhi will once again guide you through the planned procedure, using a mirror and showing you the markings to ensure that you are both in total agreement. You will also be able to control the music playing from the speakers in the procedure room to help you feel comfortable. You will be numb for 3 or 4 hours after the procedure. Bed rest, including elevating the hips and icing the area, for 3 days after the procedure should be planned for. Many patients report having little to no pain after the procedure and analgesics can be taken as needed.
You will follow up with Dr. Sodhi 2 weeks after the procedure to ensure the area is healing properly and to address any further questions or concerns.
